Thats what I was thinking as it was connected to the test socket so there can't be any interference and I have it plugged into the master socket right now.

Question... My master was originally in my kitchen but the BT engineer moved it to my bedroom when I had DSL installed back 2001, this inturn was a conversion from Home Highway (oooh I just remembered how much I use to pay). Also my sync (8128) was higher when I was with zen 8000 pro!

      Hi Alphawao

A replacement faceplate could well help I hate them dingily dangily filters I have had faceplate's put all all 3 of my phone points as I have Sky+ connected to one and the normal Sky box to another and the router is connected to the master with a faceplate.

Some Advice.. Its always advisable to inform your old ISP as soon as you have migrated that you have moved.

      Cool Something to think about

      Hi,

A couple of suggestions which might help.

Q: What about noise on the house wiring?
Q: What sort of stats do you get from the BT test socket?

I had sync and disconnection problems with freedom2surf and it turned out to be my house wiring (someone used old bell wire). My solution was to get a XTE-2005 Master Filter faceplate for my BT master socket from ADSL Nation, and run a secondary ADSL connection (using real BT approved cable) up to my computer room from the master socket. All of the original house extensions are just pre-filtered phones now (no dangling filters on each socket).

      Hope that this helps.

      Regards

      Kaitain

      Smile Fixed it

I ordered the socket from ADSL Nation yesterday and it arrived this morning. Installed the socket with a new high quality belkin ADSL cable right next to the socket. It now SYNCS at 11meg and doesn't seem to fall over. I haven't lost sync all day .

      Looks Good

So I recommend everyone to try a new socket and cable. It might work for you

I have just fitted my new faceplate filter, but I can't see any improvement. Have e-mailed the supplier to make sure it's not faulty as I think I should have got some improvement.

What speeds do you get plugged straight into the test socket? Also, how many phone extensions running off the master do you have?
