      Router screwed?

I have a DG384GT running UberGT... well today I went to activate the wireless connection and the router rebooted.

There was no internet connectivity so I checked the router:

Ethernet port lights are on (1 and 2) for the 2 computers connected and blinking when accessed.

ADSL/Power/Tick mark lights are all off.

I tried running the netgear recovery util but it didnt list the router under its list.

The router responds to pings but the web interface doesnt work.

      Can anyone help please?

Aye, If Recovery utility doesnt work (Im assuming you are putting it into the recovery position).
And reset doesnt work, All I can suggest is give Sky a phone, Ask them if they could replace it.

Dont mention that it was on the UberGT firmware, Just say it went off and wont come back on.

Recovery position? I didnt see anything about this?

I saw that I should plug only 1 ethernet jack into it and run the utility on the pc..

      Could you elaborate please

      Re: Router screwed?

Well the Recovery Position is, Plug in an ethernet cable into Port 1 - This is the only computer connected, The one with the recovery software.

Then, Remove the power cable and ADSL/RJ11 Cable. Get a pin and hold down the reset button, At the same time plug in the power cord.

You should find the (I think) the Power and Tick flashing amber alternatively.

Then you should continue to recover the router.

And you'll need your log in details from the Sky router so if it's went 'belly up' you wont get them so will then have a nice little ornament with dinky little lights that looks good on your sideboard!

      Re: Router screwed?

I think I would ask Sky for a new router, but best to skate over issues like UberGT. Alternately, there seems to be a healthy market in used Sky routers -- lots on e-bay and some at car boot sales.
