      Question Loses it's IP addess

      Hey,

      My router loses it's IP address asigned via Sky, so I lose my BB connection. the router still assigns IP's to my connected devices

      Does anyone have any suggestions on how to resolve this?

      Is it a faulty router?

      Hi,
      I suspect it is the other way around, the router loses the connection to Sky and with it the IP address. The IP address your PC has is totally independant of what Sky's DHCP server assigns your router on connection and is assigned by the DHCP server built into the Netgear Router.

      If your router keeps dropping the connection to Sky there are a couple of things you can try -

      1) Check that you have microfilters in EVERY phonepoint in use.
      2) If not already, plug the router into the master stocket
      3) Contact Sky and get them to test the line.

      Don't forget to try uncheching UPnP also. Seems to cause problems for many
