Problem with sky broadband router !!!!!!!

Hi, I am new to this forum and have been reading with interest at alot of the post .anyway my problem is that i have had the £26 triple ! package for a month and it has not been that good.
First of all i had problems with surfing the net, even though i had a connection i could not surf sometimes and at othertimes would lose the ability to view pages on the web.
when i switch my pc on i get a local area connection at 100.0mbps with an icon down on the bottom right tray then another one appears with 8mbps when i open net/connections above the lac is an icon which reads internet gateway and below sky broadband which is fine, then when i cant open a page both are still visable and connected.sometimes just the lac is visible and the sky connection has gone but i can still surf like it is at the moment.
usually when i start my pc i do not get a connection and i have to check the ip and set it to auto or put in the 192.168 etc i have spent ages on the phone to the people at sky asia/india !!!!!i have gone through all the checks over and over again and they keep sending me a new wi/router i now have 4 and just cant be bothered to phone them again as it takes so long i have turned off my upnp and looked at some tips on this site.
also how do my stats look thanks dell

Re: Problem with sky broadband router !!!!!!!

Be easier if we had your detailed stats, use this to extract them Sky Netgear DG834GT utility version 0.4 click "get detailed stats" it will ask for router username and password, then backpage to first screen then click download cgf file. Open with notepad.

Re: Problem with sky broadband router !!!!!!!

Those stats look pretty good, only problem is it says your router has only been running for 16 minutes, to get a good idea of what is going on you need a few hours worth with the connection being used. i.e. downloading etc.

Re: Problem with sky broadband router !!!!!!!

As I said before you need to post stats from a longer period of time, 16 minutes dosen't give a true picture.

Sorry to butt in but it is the amount of traffic which needs to be high. Even several hours with an idle connection may not show what is going on whereas 30 minutes hammering the connection probably will. The ideal is a reasonable duration of a few hours and an actively used connection.

This may be a line error problem but it also may be the UPnP "bug". To be safe, disable UPnP in the router admin pages and see if this makes a difference.
