    Changing the noise margin setting?

      Changing the noise margin setting?

      How do u do this?

      What is it set to by default?

      You have to use a utility such as Mognuts.

      The Sky router will always sync (at reboot) at the highest speed it can for a minimum noise margin of 6.9db. If it syncs at significantly higher than this then it is likely that the connection is capped. In which case you can't force it lower.

      Thanks for the info. I've got a feeling my noise margin is pretty low...

      take it from me that's not always a bad thing i used this utility to UP my noise margin to around 16 and my sync speed went through the floor

      now i have managed to get it back to 6.5 and although the BT tester says my line is currently profiled at 3.5Mbps i am getting around 4 some of the time but browsing is nice and nippy.

      Do you have a link for the BT tester that gives your line profile?

      Current sync is 320kbps at 6.4db so I dont think I'd better mess with that !

      The BT tester only works for BT services (i.e. Connect) not Sky LLU.
