Not true, rar is free also. People use it because winRAR is so sexy (and it supports about 12 other compression methods, zip, iso, bin etc)

Can you point to where it is free, all I have found is Trials and 'hacked' versions from dodgy sites?

I have one of these routers.

It seems i'm unable to login to the admin area using admin/password, and it doesn't appear on the device list when using the recovery utility...

Anyone have any suggestions...?

I was wondering, presumably, when Sky issue their updated Firmware, it will not be uploaded to those of us that have the Netgear Firmware on our Sky Routers.

I only upgraded mine so that the uPNP function would work correctly and to stop constant disconnections.

Hi there im having trouble extracting the firmware it comes as image file but doesnt give me the option to extract even using winrar.hellpp me out mate

If you have the .img file then it is already extracted and ready to use. Just go to the first page of this thread and follow the recovery instructions.
