How do I access my router?

I have a new sky wifi router which seems to work fine as I have been able to access the internet on a friends laptop.

Trying to get my laptop to work with a netgear WG511T card is a problem.

I can connect to the router but the netgear programme will not stop scanning through the channels 1 - 12. Every time it hits channel 1 it connects then drops out after a few seconds and starts scanning again.

The only thing I though of is to change the cahannel but I do not know how to access the router to change the channel it works on? I did not get any software for the router from sky and I can't find any on the netgear website?

      Any help would be great,

Thanks - i used this to change my channel but that did not work. I had a play with my security settins and found that if I leave the router on the default setting but turn off the security settings on my laptop it works fine!

Re: How do I access my router?

Best not to run without encryption unless you're in the depths of the country.

If there is a neighbouring wireless network, you may need to change frequency to, ideally, 6 channels away. Also relocate cordless phone base station, video sender etc.

Sounds like the main problem is to match the encryption settings in the wireless adapter to those already set in the router. For simplicity's sake while troubleshooting, it's best to connect using ethernet. Try setting your own passphrase for the router and the wireless adapter.
