Netgear loses connection;use of Linksys WAG54G?

      Hi folks,
Just changed to Sky Broadband Max last week; so far ok. Couple of issues nakmely with the Netgear dropping its ADSL connection after everytime someone uses the home phone or calls in. this never use to happen when i was with Nildram ADSL; therfore i havent really changed anything in the home setup apart from the NEtgear Router Sky provided.
ADSL filters are in all thsoe phone sockets in use, we have several around the house.
So i am a bit lost as to why this is happening with this router?
Can i change the router to my original Linksys WAG 54G ADSL modem wireless router and how would i incorporate the settings?

Also what bandwidth speed testing sites are people using? I am getting fluctuating results between sites massively ie one saying i have a 4mb download speed, and the other 11mb...when i am checking soon after each other!

      Kind regards
      A

Re: Netgear loses connection;use of Linksys WAG54G?

It does sound like a filter problem.

To use another router you have to extract the Sky user name and password code from the Sky unit (see Forums, Technical Discussions. posting by Jose Cardoso).

Sky's contract requires you use the Sky router (and there may be issues if and when they update the firmware on-line) but that hasn't stopped people experimenting.
