      Slow connection

Hi, switched from cable to Sky 1 week ago and been stuck with slow connection (see stats below). Spoken with Sky CS numerous times, tried online help and read many of the related threads on this site. I found the 2 stickies posted by Saturday very informative but am unsure why my connection is so slow having a low line attenuation and a high noise margin. Please can anyone help. Thanks

      Welcome to the forum

You're on Connect which has a 10 day training period. During this time your speeds will vary considerably and your connection may be unstable.

After 10 days your connection speed should settle to the "maximum stable rate" so everything should sort itself out. If you are still seeing strange figures at the end of the week post back. In the meantime leave your router connected to your master socket.

      Re: Slow connection (2)

Thanks for the advice. After 4 weeks of getting nowhere with Sky I finally got through to someone last Thursday who noticed that Sky had put me on a 250 kbps connection despite the fact that I'm on Connect and I had a good line. As of today I've got an 8Mbps connection. Cheers
