      Belkin Access Point

      I am thinking of subscribing to Sky.
      I presently use a Speedtouch 716g wireless router and a Belkin Wireless Access Point Model F5D7130 to increase the signal range.
      I understand that I have to use the Sky router and they do not provide a username and password.
      My concern is whether the Sky router will work with the Belkin Range Extender.
      Any information would be much appreciated.

      You can still use your own router but it is against the Sky terms and conditions, many people do it and I dont believe Sky have anyway of checking. But keep hold of your Sky router incase you need techy assistance from Sky anytime, then it would be wise to put there router back on incase when they run there tests on the line they may detect you are using a different router.
      To do it you need to have your Sky router connected and use this Sky Netgear DG834GT utility version 0.4 to extract the username and password.

      I use my own router, well, actually modem, because unfortunately the Sky router could not "fit in to my network". You certainly can hold that as an option, but the Belkin should work with the SKY. I certainly have used Netgear and Belkin products together before and have not had a problem.

      @castro

      I am using a Belkin F5D7132UK Wireless Universal Range Extender (WURE) with my sky router with no problems at all. The WPA-PSK security is also repeated and there is MAC address filtering options too for further security.

      I guess what I'm trying to say is, I think your Belkin kit will work OK with the sky router. I posted a question here about extending the range of my sky router and got some good advice from the community.
      I researched many different manufacturer's and the Belkin WURE did what I wanted and more.
