      Yes, but they're academics, not your usual boring suburban neighbours.

      The FBI have admitted that they can crack ANY encryption in about 5 minutes

      Take security seriously. A laissez faire attitude is not the correct approach to be taking. Would you leave your car unlocked because its a safe street, no one is likely to try and steal it.

      Getting back on topic (I don't want to divert down a discussion on the psychological attitude that one should approach security with - however enlightening that may be!), thank you itisme for the information. Given what has been said about WEP on this forum, it shouldn't come as any surprise that it is so easy to crack, hence the reason WPA (or higher as and when it is released) is the way to go.

      As for claims by the FBI, I am reassured that they think that can crack every encryption because it means that they don't even know about the ones that they can't crack.

      I use WPA-PSK , i change my password regularly and also turn off the wireless side of things when its not in use.
      Belt and braces i know but I'm happy doing it.
