      Router information please

Hi all this is only my second post so please be gentle with me.
I have sky bb with a netgear DC834GT router. when i connect to the internet (via eartenet cable) after a short while (10min upto 1 Hour) my connection fails and I have to switch off ond on the router to reconnect.

After reading lots of post on here i have changed the UPnP connection to off and it seams to allow me to stay on line with out reseting the route.

Is this ok to leave this setting to off?

below is the stats for my connection after turning the UNuP off

Port Status TxPkts RxPkts Collisions Tx B/s Rx B/s Up Time
      WAN PPPoA 4 4 0 4 4 00:00:14
      LAN 10M/100M 19344 17109 0 3154 893 01:21:13
      WLAN 11M/54M 323 0 0 14 0 01:21:03

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 8096 kbps 416 kbps
Line Attenuation 35.0 db 22.0 db
Noise Margin 9.3 db 13.0 db

I am currently waiting for the wireless bits to come from sky (which seem to be lost in the post for the last 5 days) but no change there

any info whether I have done the correct thing or not would be greatley appreciated.

      Re: Router information please

It's fine to leave UPNP off.

It means you may have to forward certain ports manually but only if you're using software that reuires it, like some P2P apps etc
