      Re: Router re-boot

      Hi , Please find latest stats from which you will note that SKY has dropped my 16Mps to 9440Kps without any notice to me, download speeds now remain fairly constant at 7 to 8 Mps but on opening MSN home page I get an Internet Explorer Cannot Display banner. Any ideas?

      Re: Router re-boot

      You are still getting high errors, Did you do the checks I suggested earlier in the thread? It could be the router has negociate that as being the fastest stable speed based on the amount of errors at present. Not sure on your msn problem.

      Re: Router re-boot

      Hey guys,

      I've got a similar problem. The thing is, I've read your checks, but I don't require a router reboot when using my SpeedTouch router (got no wireless, so can't use permenantly). Because of that, I don't think that the checks you've mentioned would apply, since the wiring remains identical with both routers?

      Well I went out and brought a cheap Dynomode router when I had my problems and seemed to work perfectly! only one disconnection every week or so, where as the Sky router disconnected every hour or so! But when I dug further I found the Dynomode router was still logging the errors, it just handled the situation better and didn't slow or disconnect so often, but once I got rid of the errors both the Sky router and the Dynomode work fine.

      359 hours not a glitch!

      BTW you have horrendously high CRC errors on your connection.
      I have had 12000 CRC errors in 359 hours "Above"

      Compare that with your stats "Below" 332985 errors in 6 hours!!

      Total time = 6 hours 37 min 26 sec

      You deffo got a problem somewhere.

      Yeah, I saw that and something does indeed seem wrong. I can't see it being the line though, since like I said, the SpeedTouch works perfectly.

      Re: Router re-boot

      My Dyomode appeared to work perfectly as well, If I was in your position I would try the test socket for a few hours, with that amount of errors you will easily see if it improves, at the end of the day you have nothing to lose by trying. Below are my stats from the period I was having trouble and below the dotted line is my stats now, disconnecting the ring wire on my extensions cured all my problems.

      @yascpa
      You could try posting the stats for your Speedtouch, Koala5 might be able to further explain your problem if you do. If you don't know how to get the stats, you can find out here ::. Kitz - Get your adsl line stats .::
