      Wouldn't have thought so, It is recommended that you do change it for sercurity reasons. I have read somewhere maybe further back on this thread that it's the router itself that go's off in search of new firmware. I have no confirmation of this though.

      Ok that's not sky's fault because the netgear generic version is the same, if you do want to prevent it then just flash your router with the generic version then sky's firmware will be unable to install!
      I changed the password for security reasons, not to block the firmware, whence the question

      Can anyone tell me where they heard about SKY making a new firmware for the router. Just want to see it for myself, thats all.
