Sky Q keeps dropping internet connection

I have the following problem and temporary solution. I have scoured the internet for a proper solution or explanation, but can't find anything that quite solves my specific problem.

I have a Sky Q 2TB box and 2 minis. We can't get Sky Broadband as we are in a non-Openreach fibre area, we have 120mb FTTH through Seethelight on the OFNL network and have no other issues whatsoever. The engineer installed a Sky booster as one of the minis is in the one corner of the house where the Wifi signal is weak. On a semi-regular basis, the internet connection drops out on the mini boxes which becomes noticeable whan watching On Demand, YouTube or Netflix. Going through the reset process on the mini doesn't help but if I then check network status on the main box it too has dropped and I need to go through the whole reset process including inputting the Wifi password. I have never noticed the connection drop on the main box without it having dropped on the mini, but that may or may not be coincidence. One thing I have read on a couple of threads on Sky Help is that the mini "phones home" to verify that it is being used in the same home as the main box and there may be a firewall issue on non-Sky routers. I have seen instructions to correct this for BT routers but the lowest setting on mine is to block unknown incoming connections while acknowledging the existence of the gateway which would not help hereand, in any cast I am reluctant to switch off my firewall. Does anyone have any ideas as to what the issue could be and if it may be related to the router? My router is a Technicolor Media Access TG589vac v2 running firmare version 17.2.0278-0901009-20180108115410 if that helps.

I don't really have the answer your looking for but the only way I could resolve similar issues with mine was to hard wire them all to a gigabit switch and turn off WiFi on the minis.
No Sky VDSL here either so I'm with Virgin Media for my BB, I use my own router and WiFi MESH system.
