      Picture Breakup and Sound Issues...

Hi, we have just started, seems to be from last Friday, having picture breakup and sound issues with our SkyQ box, it doesn't affect live TV only seen it in recorded and watch now films so far.
Anyone else experiencing the same? I have tried the obvious, powering down the box, taking out the mains supply but no difference.
      Cheers...

      Hello cuke2u
I have had SkyQ now since Oct 2018 & the Only problem until Today was it failed to record or download any programmes
after a couple of Days but the installer did say the Q Box V2 takes around 4-5 Weeks to ' Bed In' and any problems just
Power Off remove plug & wait 5 minutes reconnect & all should be Well...........it Worked & No More Problems until Today
I had Breakup & Sound Problems with Two (2) have not tried anymore yet downloaded episodes from Universal Channel
will see if any more problems happen Must be an easy Fix...........!!!!!

Hi wizard2000 and thanks for your reply. Having been away on holiday upon my return I've just watched a recording of over two hours of the Chinese F1 race in UHD with no issues. Will continue to test over this week.
We have had our SkyQ box since release, so no bedding in issues, and I have tried the hard reset method.

      Hello cuke2u
I have watched many shows on catch up download with No Problems until last night when I downloaded
episode 1 from All4 called 'Berlin Station' it is a good show if You like 'spooks' but the show was blighted
by freezing & green flashes from the top of the screen & the break up of the picture at various times over
the hour long show. Not sure why & ' Helpful Sky Rep ' Knows Less than Me' .........
      !!!!!
about as much help as a Three (3) Legged Man in an '**** Kicking Contest' ......!!!!!!!
Refer to 'Crib Sheet' I think as Usual.....Not Impressed with Sky's Reaction of hard Reset again

Re: Picture Breakup and Sound Issues...

Picture breakup and judder can be due to may things.
It can be your TV, that may have recently got some new firmware.

You should check that your Sky Q box is in Standby 'eco' mode. The box does do housekeeping during this period and reduces the times you need to power reset your box.
By the way, when restaring your sky Q box, it only needs 2 minuites for the power to be removed. That is enough time for the hard drive to be released.

One thing that does affect a lot of TVs and set top boxes is dect phones. These do not have to be close by, but do cause interference problems with wifi mesh systems.
Also make sure that no power leads from the set top box and TV are very close or touching your sky q to tv hdmi cable or sky q connected ethernet cables.
Also, if you have V2 box with the brick power supply, make sure that is away from any other power extension.

That sounds like a broadcaster problem with the download offering.
Delete it from your box and try downloading again.
You should report these kinds of problems to the sky email address ViewerR@sky.uk

Re: Picture Breakup and Sound Issues...

More on this, has only happened with recordings of Project Blue Book on SYFY recently. If I play the same episodes on catchup then the picture and sound breakup doesn't occur.
Recorded the whole F1 weekend in UHD and it all played back ok...
