    sky q 1tb box can i use as a multi room

      sky q 1tb box can i use as a multi room

      i have a 2tb sky q box with 1 mini box , i was given a 1 itb box , can i use this as a " mini box " / ie can i set it up to watch in another room ? when i turn it on it says no signal , i have connected it to my wifi but this is where my limited knowledge ends , any help would be greatfully received

      It won’t work without a card. Only one card allowed per household. Probably easy to work the rest out.
      As an aside Sky Q equipment is owned by Sky and has to be returned to Sky when the contract expires. As such it can’t be passed on, sold, loaned etc. What you have possession of, effectively, is stolen property.

      There are quite a few Q boxes appearing on eBay, I think many people are just not aware of the change in the rules with the introduction of Sky Q.

      That is very much their own look out at the end of the day. Personally it was clear to me and eBay really should be refusing to list any Sky Q equipment.

      I’m would assume it would be a waste of money anyway, I can’t see Sky pairing or supplying a viewing card for use in such equipment.

      I would guess it's like the 2TB version that won't work without a Sat feed? Hence the no signal message, the mini's do it over network connection as a slave off the main box with a sat feed, although not officially allowed an acquired mini will work even though it should have been returned to Sky as that's part of the contract.
