Connect to Sky Q Mesh using TalkTalk Router

I've recently had Sky Q installed and I'd like to be able to connect other devices to the mesh, Talk Talk is my ISP.

I've purchased a Sky Q hub off eBay and had a go at configuring it via googling it but with no success.

Could somebody point me in the direction of a step by step guide?

My Talk Talk router is a Huawei HG635

Thanks in advance for any suggestions

Gawd knows.. .we usually get people trying to replace the Q hub not add one....

Someone here may have the answer though.

Yes Iíve read I can connect the sky hub to my talk talk router and trick Sky q into thinking Iím using sky broadband, tried to make this work with no success.

What password do you use to connect to the mesh, the standard sky hub one?

Re: Connect to Sky Q Mesh using TalkTalk Router

Why do you want to trick it into thinking you are using Sky BB?

I canít get Wi Fi coverage in all areas of the house, I can only connect to the Sky mesh which does cover the house if I have Sky Broadband

Re: Connect to Sky Q Mesh using TalkTalk Router

Sadly the Q Hub cannot be set up to run on any other ISP's connection. Sky have locked down the GUI.

For the Sky mesh to work, you need the Sky WiFi boosters which a Sky engineer would install. They only do they when the customer has Sky Broadband and the Q Hub.

Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro: Connected at 80,000 kbps / 20,000 kbps
Previous ADSL2+ Speed 19999 kbps 1153 kbps, Line Attenuation 17.5 db 6.9 db, Noise Margin 7.5 dB 8.7 dB
      Speedtest: 17.15MB/s 0.97Mb/s Ping 31 ms

As far as I thought they could install boosters for the Sky Q Wifi between main box and Miniboxes, even if they don't have Sky BB.
You won't get any wifi hotspot benefit with this.

If you have poor wifi in the room where the Minibox will be installed, then you need to tell the advisor when booking. They will add an NSV (Non-Standard Visit) Flag to the order to give the engineer extra time to make sure it all works okay.
