      Sky Q

Hi all, I'm getting sky q installed next week, and I have been told when new router arrives to just plug it in!, current set up is own router into bt modem, can I still use my own router (Asus rt-n56u), or do I need to use new router, also if I have to use Sky router does this need to be connected to modem

      Re: Sky Q

If you choose to use the Sky Q router that's up to you but you will loose the hot spot feature.

The Sky Q router is a hub and modem built in and does not need the BT external modem to work, just plug it into your NTE5 socket via a microfilter.

      Re: Sky Q

The Q-Hub is a modem, small switch and Wi-Fi router in one. It also has power line networking built in (NB this is only compatible with Q products from Sky...at the moment).

With the Q-Hub, a Q-Silver and Q-Mini will also act as Wi-Fi access points, creating a Wi-Fi mesh network.

I, for one, have had no issues with any of the Q kit (touch wood).
