Setting up your Sky Q Mini box with a non-HDMI TV

If your TV doesn't have an HDMI socket, you can still connect your Sky Q Mini box. Your engineer will have an alternative cable available when they install your Sky Q Mini box.
If you upgrade or order additional Mini boxes after your system has been installed you'll find an adapter cable under the Mini box's accessory tray.
Once you have the adapter cable:

      1. Plug the black end of the adapter cable into the video port on the back of your Sky Q Mini box.
      2. Plug the red, white and yellow ports into the matching coloured ports on your TV.
      3. Select the correct input on your TV.

If you don't have the Sky Q Mini box cable, you can order one from us.
Does the Sky Q mini have an optical audio output?

      UPDATE..

Ok so for anyone who is replacing their Sky Hd setup where one box was feeding two TVs via a magic eye one via HDMI and the other via coaxial cable using a magic eye controller, the answer is..

You can use a Sky Q mini to output to 2 tvs one via HDMI and the other using the AV cable and composite.
The Bluetooth remote works from both rooms (one on the floor above the other) in-fact it worked from pretty much all over the house.
The AV cable outputs at the same time as the HDMI although I only tested it like this briefly, however, I can say it works perfectly from either room one at a time.
The audio is via HDMI in one room and optical in the other.

Now if I could just get the SKY Q Silver box downstairs to sync the audio to the picture correctly, I'd be a happy man

Re: Sky Q setup advice 2x minibox or splitter

For those who are interested in pushing HD content around their home, instead of being limited to just one or two TVs, there are now modulators which can take a HDMI input and convert it to a UHF Digital output that can be viewed on any TV with a T2 decoder (i.e. one that can rune into Freeview HD content).

One example (currently selling at 120):
      https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01HOZKVFW

IMHO this is a little better than using the ones which push the signal as analogue UHF signals as the picture should be perfectly clear and potentially DD sound should also be available from the Sky boxes.

Of course you'll need a suitable bluetooth remote set up for any Sky Q boxes or rely on a Magic-eye if you are using the Sky+ HD STBs.

If connected to your home network Sky+ HD boxes can be controlled using a smartphone or tablet.

Certainly the Sky+ app gives a lot of cool, but I fear many won't have installed the app you've posted on here. That would certainly help.
