      Twin Feed Communal

      Hi

I am thinking of doing the biggest of U turns and leaving BTTV and coming back to Sky.

Sky Q is taking my fancy but am a bit worried about the need for a new LNB.

I live in a modern block of flats (5 years) that is on a Tv/Fm/Satellite distribution systems from 1 dish. My faceplate has 2 Satellite feeds so is already Sky+ compatible.

Would i still need a new LNB which knowing my housing association would be like pulling teeth so probably a no-go

Definitely don't require a new LNB. The question is whether you need a new switch as part of the distribution system. Not sure about twin feed systems. I know for single feed systems a new switch is required unless its a relatively new one in which case it's already been upgraded

Speak to the Management Company that look after your block.. Sky have approached blocks of flats and offered to upgrade the distribution system for free to support Sky Q... Love Digital seem to be doing most of the work for London/South... be worth getting your Management Company to ring Sky if Sky haven't contacted them already.

      Re: Twin Feed Communal

I am going through hell, jumping through all the hoops with trying to get sky q "free" upgrade on our communal dish. The council who we rent from have already refused it. So another installation has been arranged for 6 weeks time. The thing is, its the original 3rd party who installed the communal system for them that are asking to do the upgrade.
