Interesting. If they did do that, & the landline rental happens too, then they could compete with Virgin's "Quadplay" offerings.

I really don't see any justification for it......

If I had a Freeview PVR, I wouldn't have to pay a sub on that.

So why should Sky+ cost extra? It's not like Virgin where the bog-standard STB only has a pathetic 1 day EPG & you need to pay for V+ to have 7 days or whatever.

i agree with you, also it would give sky an edge on price , which in turn could mean more people signing up

Re: Something big is on the cards....

Given that it appears the churn on plus is much lower than on ordinary Skym would there not be savings there for Sky. Savings make profits as well as subs,

There would , however, be an up front cost to the co, if free box free installtion were still given to new subscribers.

Therefore Sky would perhaps be justified in recovering some of the net costs of standardisation on plus boxes through subscription rates. A very modes amount- 1 p,m?

      On 5/3 he OP said
It now transpires that Sky have something up their sleeve and are about to launch some cracking deals, we should hopefully learn of these plans within the next 2 weeks or so.
. Should we continue to hold our breath?

Is it? Could it be? It might even be............... a broadband service that works first time without fiddling with the settings?

Maybe the 'Something Big' was Anytime that is now available on HD and will soon be on Sky +, but I would hope its something bigger than that, i.e. dropped subscription charge or 6 months half price.
