      I hope it's true. 120 saving per year and I won't complain
All I can tell you is what I was told. I now have 2 mix 15 and no Sky+ fee. CS Rep told me that as of 1st July there will be no Sky+ charge at all.

I tend to agree with you as things can and do change (which I suspect is what happened with the original date suggested by Newsreader). For this reason I booked my Sky+ install for the end of June as by then I would hope for an official announcement. Even then, you have 1 month from having Sky+ installed to cancel at no cost to yourself, so if it didn't transpire then that's exactly what I would do.

Here's hoping that things don't change.

I have no doubt that Newsreaders original Post was Spot on but who knew that Virgin/Ntl would be such a self imploding damp squib (certainly not Sky thats for sure) the very fact that they were ready to drop the subs way back in feb/march but didnt need to highlights V/medias lack of threat, its good to see Virgin hit back with a new reduced offer for customers this week increasing the packages offered in the 3 for 30 and 4 for 40 (not sure if this is just retention or a short term offer) but this will only be countered with a salvo from Sky and therefore the Customer are in for a fruitfull time in my opinion and about time, Also Satantv's incusrion into the sport realm will hopefully reduce the sports package prices too (although if the camera work & outside broadcast is a bad as for the SPL im sure they will fall flat on their faces)

The information we were given at the time, has still not been rescinded, like we said earlier on though, it had to be Virgin that threw the spanners in the works.

I would love HD and have no problem paying for the equipment (even if it was 300), but the hd sub at 10 is a real problem especially with the lack of HD content at the moment.

cant disagree with that mate, at least with sky though your getting 15 chanels for your tenner , head of to the dark side and your gettin charged a tenner for bbc freeview HD , IM holding off just now , i have a 20" HD tv mailny for my XBox 360 , and only bought a new decent TV 8 Months ago not HD though about 6 weeks later the HD prices dropped like lead as you can imagine i was very much gutted.

Its very much a circle of life thing, more HD channels = More HD Sales , More HD Sales = Cheaper HD units , and so on and so on.

HD sub scrapped would be my preference.

If the box was 200 too I'd definitely go for it. Though apparently it's possible to get it for 150 if you get that long term customer offer.
