Sky Unbundles A further 57 Exchanges

One of our users chintz pointed out that on Samknows.com Sky/Easynet have enabled more exchanges today. The addition of these 57 enabled exchanges now brings the total amount of Sky Unbundled exchanges to 836. The Sky LLU roll-out is progressing but there is a long way to go as currently only 15% (worked out via samknows) of BT exchanges in the UK are Sky/Easynet enabled.

Many thanks to chintz for pointing this out to me via PM.

Nice to see Sky are making good progress with regards to the unbundling. I see a further 4 exchanges have been done within S. Wales. Thats takes it to 21 now. Hopefully mine wont be too long now. I've been waiting ages

I'm one of the lucky new 57 . . . currently on the Connect package. Has anyone had any experience of upgrading to MAX in terms of speed of changeover and quality of line? My line attenuation is 39db but noise margin is low at between 7.5 - 4.5db.

Ah! the mythical connect to mid-max changeover.

We keep hearing a lot about when it may be happening but, to my knowledge, there hasn't been anyone who has yet experienced the change (so to speak). Some say this month some say June/July.

My exchange was unbundled about a month ago but, as I'm already more than happy with my connection, I'm a little concerned what may happen when I do go on to sky's gear.

If anybody has any further updates please let us know.

      Don't get too excited.

My exchange was unbundled last December and I'm still on Connect - and paying 17 a month for the privilige

Re: Sky Unbundles A further 57 Exchanges

Just because they're being unbundled, doesn't automatically mean you're going to get on one of the llu packages. Mine was unbundled back in November, yet I'm still on Connect because they haven't enough unbundled capacity - they apparently have to wait for a whole load more to come available (and I've had several different versions of what they're actually waiting for!).

At least, as I'm a fair way from the exchange and not expecting a huge jump in speed, and because I managed to get them to reduce my monthly fee to 5 anyway, I'm not too bothered, although I do still occasionally get disconnections.

Have you phoned them and ask to be put on their 5 price for the Connect product as a few of us have done, myself included.
