If you read the page 8 posts, people are on the understanding that Newsreader works for Sky. Unless I've read it wrong.

      Re: Sky+ Subscription imminent scrapping

Looks like he pays for Sky + and is just been optimistic
Pants - If that person had read my post as it was mean't, then:

I dont subscribe to any premium ones anyway,
Means I do not subscribe to any premium channels

so now I could get Sky+ and Broadband for 25.00 per month cheaper than I was without Sky+ and BB before, if you get what I mean.
Means - I used to pay 30.00 approx for my BB with F2S, I now pay 10.00 per month for BB with Sky, so if I got Sky+ at a free subscription, then I would still be roughly 20.00 per month better off. Ok I boobed I put 25.00 in my post.

As for the 20 years that was a generic time frame. I remember the day I bought my Amstrad set top box, for 199.99 from Currys in Northenden (manchester) I took it home and had the dish mounted on a steel poll welded to a stand in my back garden. I never did get a proper picture, but it was an awful long time ago. I must have been approx 18 or so. Oh and subscriptions were either 12 or 16 a month. And also they did some squareal dishes as well, which used to be called BSB or something, infact iirc BSB and Sky merged hence BSkyB.

I do NOT work for Sky, but from what I have heard if you do, you get fairly good pay, I do NOT have Sky+ anyone reading this forum would know my feelings on having to pay the 159.99 for the Sky+ and the install. If it was 49.00 (like other forums state) I would sign up to it straight away.

Personnally people can say what they want or doubt what I have to say, its like water off a duck's back to me. But I do NOT work at Sky!!!!!

      Re: Sky+ Subscription imminent scrapping

NewsreadeR you're right to guess it was 18 years.
Sky launched in 1989 with four channels on the Astra 1a satellite.
      1. Sky One
      2. Sky Movies
      3. Sky Sports
      4. Sky News

I was a manager for Dixons at the time and was invited to the launch party in London. I had a buffet lunch with Frank Bough and Mickey Mouse but I like to keep that bit quiet!

The people on the other forum need to get the facts right before making statements, decisions and insinuations.

I don't know how many times Newsreader has said that he isn't employed by Sky and yet it still pops up in posts.

It just goes to show how a thread can get mis-shapen because of ignorance.

It's been an ongoing rumour for quite a while, this time though I actually believe that it will be announced imminently, but that's just me

If the truth be known, I would probably like to work for them though. In tier 3 or somewhere - I love helping people.
