      Re: Sky+ Subscription imminent scrapping

With all due respect, I would say that you have benefitted more than I have. Please don't take my post the wrong way - I ain't having a go here.

On the other side of the coin, if indeed I had signed up to Sky+ ages ago, I would have been paying 10.00 a month and you have been paying nothing for it.

Companies change their offers all the time to keep and collect new customers, just because they change something does not automatically mean all existing customers are entitled to the same.

I have been a customer of Sky's for about 20 years and still I would have to pay 159.99 to get Sky+ fitted, I can't kick off with them because thats the deal. But suddenly if it is free to receive / use it is more attractive to spend the 159.99

Look on the bright side you are paying less for the broadband then you were before, so you are still quids in.

thats exactly my point i will not be any better or worse off
but people who spend less will be better off

ok i used to get sky sports and sky+ for an extra 17 over the basic packages, now i would only get sky sports for that extra 17

so how do you get new subscibers to go for sports or movies if its 17 more over what will be the new entry level which will be sky+
as the production of standard boxes will cease. as also video on demand
is due to make use of the hidden drive space on the sky+ box

      @ Jimmy fair comment

However we do not know the new pricing structure, all we have been told is the subscription for Sky+ is been reduced.

With this in mind, they could also say that Sky Sports is now only a fiver a month, we just don't know.

i would hope that there is a revamp of the pricing structure

i did mention before maybe reduced multiroom cost if you take out a premium channel. i cant see them dropping the cost of sports as they have to bid for the right to broadcast
and the less from the sports subscriber the less they can throw at the table.

so they need to attract people to sports

That could or could not be on the cards, all I know is what I have posted, but it would make sense.

      Re: Sky+ Subscription imminent scrapping

im on the 6 mix, movies and sports do nothing for me, i will jump at the chance to get a sky+ box with NO monthly subscription (so as soon as you lot hear that the subs are scraped let me no asap lol).

I also want sky to release a line rental product - if there are savings to be made then im signing up for that too.
