Re: FUP on MAX - Revised figures?

I'm fairly new to all this, my question is, other than writing down the file sizes of anything I download and doing the math, is there a better way to keep track of how much I've downloaded and uploaded in a month?

Re: FUP on MAX - Revised figures?

I installed a small program called Netmeter back when NTL started clamping down on their "unlimted" users and I still have it running now with SKY. It's good news that there seems to be more flexibility in any "cap" and no direct monitoring since I have avoided downloading some content.
HD is fine but it's pain you to delete stuff from SKY+HD and then not be able to download the same identical data off the net

Re: FUP on MAX - Revised figures?

I just went to the Netmeter site and downloaded it. When I tried to install it though, McAfee immediately flagged it as containing a trojan called Q and got rid of it. It was then that I also noticed that Site Advisor had it marked as a red site. I'll have a look on Downloads.com and see if I can find anything there.

Re: FUP on MAX - Revised figures?

Unless SKY actually declare a fair usage policy amount. It very difficult in Legal terms to do anything about excessive users.

Because their is no definition of excessive in the contract.

Adding a define level would mean a major revision, basically a new contract. Which then allows users to refuse said new contract and not be bound by remaining months cost.

      They could just migrate away.

Realistically easynet are setup to handle 500Gb a month per user (Usage levels is only counted on DL not UL). Which is way more than any home user really needs at the moment.

So the only near official figures are those of the back bone.

Think yourselves lucky, I am on 40Gb in the Connect package.

Any clear steer on 'Sky Anytime' application?

I'm assuming that they'd exclude traffic from that...
