I want Sky + but I won't buy it as it is £99.00 for me even as an existing customer.
I have to agree with you here you have made a very good pint. One thing though see these new deals are they going to benfit existing cutomers or new ones only?

I was wondering where Fibre was, perhaps he's grounded???

Not for much longer though mate.

They need more Sky+ users to make the Video On Demand (VOD due later this year) service worth while as approx half of the Sky+ boxes in the field haven't got the capability to utilise it (160gb Hard drive drives minimum) as all of the old pace & Thompson PVR2's have too small a hard drive.

Also NTL launched it's PVR recently so they need to see off the opposition

You'll get one for peanuts this year, you wait & see

This is why I think Sky are offering the £5.00 Connect, to keep existing Sky TV customers sweet. Would you be happy paying £17.00 a mth for Connect, when as a new customer you can get Sky TV and Connect for £xx.xx (new offer) per month.

This way they are not alienating their existing customers. However they should sort the existing Connect customers out - its only 5% of 220k or so.

Great news! Even though the Sky Broadband network hasn't yet reached your area, you can enjoy all the benefits of Sky Broadband Connect right now. And we're delighted to offer this to you for just £5 a month.

Enjoy download speeds of up to 8Mb and a generous 40GB monthly usage allowance so you can email, surf, shop and download music and videos.

Include Sky Talk and you can receive FREE evening and weekend calls to UK landlines anytime day or night, weekdays or weekends. Just pay BT for your line rental and Sky for your Sky Talk charges. So why wait?

To order Sky Broadband, Sky Talk or both, call 08705 515 515

Up to 8Mb download speed – perfect for downloading music and video

      40GB usage every month

      One-off £20 activation fee

      Just £5 a month

I'm already on 'connect', but my friend received this e-mail earlier today, so where does that leave us that already signed up at £40 connection fee & £17 monthly. Suddenly I'm not such a happy bunny.

tbh we don't know I would like to think that Sky will do the honourable thing, as it is a relatively new product. It's their call though.

fibre - if you cancel your dd and keep a record of all your complaints how can they hold you to an agreement that they have not honoured ? maybe they will not release your line ? - cancel that and get another ? -

If you cancel your DDI you do risk being sued. No matter how big your complaint you should never cancel the DDI. You'll end up with your credit record black marked etc.

It's the law I'm afraid, you must seek mutual agreement to release you from the contract before you cancel the DDI.
