Re: Sky Broadband Connect at 5 a month ??

My contact with the call centres was very pleasant. The secret is to be very patient and very polite and have a note of what you want to say written so you can be very accurate and precise. If you use words like "unbundled" etc ask them if they understand the word. I usually avoid call centres like the plague, but I think the sky ones are well trained and on message. If you seem to be getting nowhere just get yourself out of the conversation and call back the next day or email them. if you have an aversion to the the 0870 numbers try SAYNOTO0870.COM - Non-Geographical Alternative Telephone Numbers to get a cheaper one or a geographical number.

ALSO I have changed my profile to reflect my success at getting to 5.

Me too, I hope nobody thinks that I'm gloating, I'm not i just think it will help people to find people who have been successful in achieving this. Hopefully I will be able to help them achieve this too.

Re: Sky Broadband Connect at 5 a month ??

Just Spoke to a nice lady on the 0800 number, got through in less than 5 mins, she told me it was for new customers only. I told her that I know of many that have been swapped from 17 to 5. She said that I was wrong but she would check. After 2 mins on hold, she came back and appologised for her mistake. I have now been swapped to 5 a month. She couldn't have been more helpful.
      Result!!

Re: Sky Broadband Connect at 5 a month ??

My perseverance I think has finally paid off.

Gor through to a very helpful agent and explained the situation. He carried out a DSL check on their system which states my exchange only has Connect, but Samknows, Easynet and Sky BB Checker say otherwise, indeed I went through the online order as a new customer and sure enough it only offered the LLU products to me.

The agent went off to do some checking and came back and said he would alter my package to give me the 5 offer. My account is also coming up with an "error" which he said needs to be referred to another team to sort out, might explain why my sky.com profie is buggered as well.

He also said he would give me half of this months' sky bill back since I have been paying the higher connect charge, so that will be a 32 credit as well as the 5 price which he said would last for 6 months and I should be over on MID by then

He explained to me that some agents are putting people across on the the new price becasue they believe that is what should happen but he suggested the general consenus in the Call Centre is we should be staying on the current price we signed up for as the offer is for "new customers" only.

He was very open and candid with me which I appreciate, he said there is no point in lying to customers, I also work in a Call centre and I would have to agree with him on that front.

As my sky.com profile is buggered I will be checking Sky Active to see if there are any changes to my upcoming bill and recent transactions and will report back.

I also asked any clue when I will go across to MID, he advised because of this error on my account he can't say, again we shall see what happens but cheers for the advice in this thread.

The offer for the total 26 was for new and existing customers as the adverts in the newspapers are quite clearly saying this so I would say that this 5 offer is as well.

Anyway well done for getting it all sorted.
