Alan's right, just use the freephone number and go to Sky Broadband customer services. The operative could not have been more helpful.

I think you must have misread what I posted as I didn't actually say that. What I did say is that this site will tell you if you can get this offer not what package you are on or what you are being charged.

This is that link: Sky Broadband

Just put your phone number in there and it will tell you if you are eligiable for the 5 Connect offer. If you are then you can use the free phone number as I posted above.

sorry must have misread - i've changed to the 5 package

The bloke doesn't know what he is talking about. I phoned them on Tuesday and the guy I spoke to said that he did not know how to change the tarrif and he though I might have to loose my service temporarily (up to 30 days) but he spoke to his manager who was a 'power user' and once he spoke to the manager it was done. Try again you might get someone who knows what they are doing failing that ask them to speak to their manager because you know it can be done without losing your service.

I phoned as soon as the call centre opened at 0830 and got straight through no being put on hold

Just keep trying until you get an operative that can be bothered to help. They do exist if you persevere

Well, its nice that Sky have honoured the deal for existing customers, thats a great PR move

How many other companies would have done that?

I remember paying Plusnet 39.99 a mth for 2mb broadband and they changed it to 21.99 and would not let you change down, and then relented to a 14.99 charge to do so.

I just checked out Sky.com and this is my current package:

Sky Sports 1, , Sky Sports Extra, Sky Sports 3, Sky Movies 2, Sky Movies Cinema, 6 Mix, Sky Sports 2, , Disney, Sky Movies 1

      Current Equipment:
      Sky PlusSky HD

I wonder if I will be charged for BB at all looking at this?

pity we cant get mortgage and mobile phone companies to follow suit - lol
seriously tho they had to do the right thing with being so new to the business - if they hadn't people would never have forgiven them and mud sticks as they say
