Re: Sky Broadband Connect at 5 a month ??

I plan to call on either Monday or Tuesday and find out what the situation is for my exchange. Surely Sky must have to inform the staff at some point that this offer is out in the open.

If the offer is indirectly indicating an exchange upgrade inside of 6 months then there must be some indication to staff as to the situation with the offer being for specific customers.

Re: Sky Broadband Connect at 5 a month ??

I can tell you there is major plans for loads of exchanges to be rolled out by July 2007, unfortunately no list though.

I know LNB is on PADGATE and that was scheduled for Q4 2007, which last time I looked would have meant Sept - December 2007. He is eligible for this offer.

      This means 2 things:

      1) They are way ahead of schedule

      2) They mean business and plan to do as many as possible within the next 6 months.

The thing is Sky will be losing money at 5.00 per month to a royal degree, it has to be purely for signing up the numbers, and rapid expansion. Afterall they have the money to do so.

That will fall in with this 5 offer they are doing then. I really don't know why they don't produce a list even if it is a rough guide as I am sure it will stop a lot of people emailing Sky and EasyNet to find out and plus if they are like me they just want to know if there exchange is going to be done before the next millennium !

I would certainly agree that Sky must be on a mission to ramp up the LLU enabled exchanges for the 5 offer to work long term. I would hazard a guess though that Sky probably aren't enabling exchanges as fast as they would like.

I'm more likely to believe that Sky are offering the 5 Connect price as a pre-emptive strike against both BT Wholesale ISP's (with the upcoming Wholesale drops likely to occur) and to gain advantage over other LLU's.

Oh, thanks for fixing the sig. What was I doing wrong?

Exactly what I have been saying in the whole of this thread. I face this problem with my mortgage lender and mobile phone company.

I have no problems with it, it is a business decision to create more profit which is the purpose of a business.

Re: Sky Broadband Connect at 5 a month ??

Just a quick update for existing connect subscribers as some inportant information has gone missing due to the unfortuneate server problem.

Got to the following webpage and check the availability.

      Sky Broadband

If it says you can get it ring sky and ask them to transfer you to the 5 deal. Not sure of the correct number as I left it at work but I started with the freephone number advertised on the telly and in the press. This number is incorrect but they will give you the correct one.

The guy asked me if I'd had an email and I said no I'd just checked on the above link and it said I was eligible. He said thats good enough for me and changed me over there and then - I didn't have to change my tv package either.

It worked for me and I think alanb was also successful.

And the best bit is it means I will get max within 6 months - whahoo

      Hope this helps - Dave
