Sky is about to roll-out a MAJOR redesign for the iconic Sky+HD planner

Sky plans a MAJOR redesign for iconic Sky+HD planner | Tech | Life & Style | Daily Express
SKY+HD customers can look forward to a refreshed menu and all-new homepage coming soon, the satellite broadcaster has confirmed.

Sky is planning to roll-out a redesigned homepage to Sky+HD boxes later this year.

Before then, the satellite broadcaster will start taking orders for its next-generation television service, Sky Q.

The new system comes complete with a svelte 4K-ready set-top box, wireless multi-room Sky Q Mini receivers, the ability to pause and resume video on different screens across your home, and a touchpad remote.

tried Sky Q last month and were thoroughly impressed with the brand-new service. But the premium price could be a barrier for some.
Meanwhile, Sky has not forgotten about its loyal Sky+HD subscribers.

The hugely-popular satellite broadcaster announced plans to update the iconic blue-and-yellow menus.

Amongst the changes, Sky will improve support for its on-demand box sets, allowing customers to download an entire season with one button for the first time.

A redesigned homepage, with easier access to resume shows and films that customers have yet to finish watching, will be rolled out later this year.

"Sky+ remains at the heart of our offer for millions of customers," the company announced during its quarterly earnings call.

"From next month, customers in the UK and Ireland will receive the latest software update to their EPG (Electronic Program Guide), giving them an even easier way to enjoy their favourite box sets as a full series can be downloaded into their planner in one go."

The UK firm then added: "Later in the year we will launch a brand new homepage, showcasing more of our best content and providing customers with an easy place to continue watching programmes they have yet to finish."

Whether the new homepage and program guide resemble the vertical menu structure that Sky has introduced for Sky Q boxes remain to be seen.

Sky Q's homepage has a bright, modern feel and offers plenty of ways to catch up on your favourite shows.

Sky Q will go on-sale to customers from February 9th, but the first batch of home installations won't start until the end of the month.

That is being worked on. It should be more reliable now, but saying that mine didn't pick up Grimm last week. I had to manually add it.

Chances are they wont allow planner sharing they mentioned a year ago.
