      As it is free, I doubt if it will be made available unless you sign up for Sky Q.

      Re: Sky Q

      The SkyQ hub is part of a SkyQ system/setup and needs to be returned at the end of contract so I don't think it will be made available to purchase unless a SkyQ install is carried out.

      The sky hub is your property once you drop sky q and continue with broadband. Only the mini and sky q box need to be returned and have the charge and baliff demands from sky for their return.
      All in the sky q T&Cs and the updates that were sent in the sky q order emails, below;

      If you are loaned a Sky Q Wireless Router and ‘Your contract for UK residential TV services’ subsequently ends but you are still a Sky Broadband customer, the Sky Q Wireless Router will become your property on the date ‘Your contract for UK residential TV services’ ends and, for the Sky Q Wireless Router only, ‘The agreement for the loan of Sky Q boxes and the Sky Q hub’ will terminate.
      Sky have said elsewhere that the sky hub will soon become their default router, subject to supplies of the sr102. According to some of the sky community chiefs.

      Re: Sky Q

      I may be reading too much into the T&Cs but it says TV services, not Sky Q so if you reverted from Sky Q back to a standard Sky TV subscription then the Sky Q Hub would still have to be returned together with the other Q boxes. It is only when all TV services are cancelled that ownership of the Sky Q Hub is transferred to the Sky broadband subscriber.

      Think you are reading too much into it.
      If you went back to only sky+hd (not sure that would be as easy as just a switch back), that would mean a completely new install, re the changed lnb I would have thought, so a new contract.
      The thing is though the sky q 18 months contract is the bit that matters re the tv services, as that is what you are committing to. After that, it would be another 18 month contract for sky q.
      Of course you can terminate early, but despite the termination costs, would still be the same.
