It's not unusual for a company to charge a % above bank base rate on any outstanding amount but personally I've only ever seen this on a B2B basis.

There are so many things that could go wrong with a DD that are not the customers fault (recent NatWest banking issues anyone?), that this clause seems excessive to me. But on the flip side it is the same as any other terms and conditions in that it is only a problem if they enforce it, which they might only do in very select circumstances.

Agreed. The main reason for highlighting it was because it's not uncommon to see complaints about Sky services accompanied by the threat of DD cancellation being used as a "solution" to the problem. It's always been pointed out that this is a bad idea, but this change would make it even more of a bad idea!

PS. I noticed somewhere yesterday that there is (?will also be?) a 50 per month charge for paying by recurring continuous debit/credit card payment instead of DD. Not sure if that's also new?

So how many non-freeview channels do you watch then SW ?

Just curious, we don't watch much sky tv BUT there are the occasional gems like The Tunnel on SkyAtlantic. Plus I do love the Sky box and how easy everything is including on demand

Apart from Syfy not many though I do occasionally flick through channels out of desperation when there are only repeats or nothing worth watching on the free channels. Though more often than not I just turn off the TV and do something else.

Re: Sky TV Price rise June 2015

Just received my letter and my subscription is going up 4.50. I have not had a salary rise for several years so that is a huge rise for me and I cannot justify it.
I wonder if I get the full 4.50 rise whilst I am on a discounted rate?

I can't dump sly at the moment as I am on a 12 month discounted contract, but as soon as it ends that will probably be it.

Time to start working on my family and getting them used to a life without sly.
I am sure that the promise of using the money saved for an annual holiday will go some way in winning them over.

Where are you thinking of going on holiday by saving 4.50 a month??

      LOL.

Yes I turn it off off and watch reruns of Why Don't You Just Switch Off Your Television Set and Go Out and Do Something Less Boring Instead?
