On Demand is greatly reduced compared to broadcast in every form. It's why I try to keep recordings. Or try and record the best movie channel at that time of airing.

My biggest shock though last night, I normally don't watch Sky movies in surround sound because how flat they normally are. After 4 hours or so with Blu-Ray viewing, I switched to Sky Premier HD for Transformers 4 near the final battle. It sounded like I had cardboard or something blocking the speakers. Everything lacked. Midrange was poor and the bass was so weak. Voices weren't as clear. Transformers 4 shakes the room on Blu-Ray. Aint happening on Sky.

Though, Interstellar is really something on Blu-Ray.

I had been wondering for sometime now even for the bedroom TV/Soundbar setup. How Sky can sound a little muddy. Even Sky News. Pop in a Blu-Ray… How twinkly the sound is, music, the clarity in speech and how especially rich the bass is. The richness in Tron Legacy is really something.

I find it annoying how you can quickly get used to the bad sound from Sky after several days.

Received my letter this morning about the change in conditions, also included changes to calling charges from 1st July. Looks like there might be more increases. Copy of letter sent as attachment.

Yes I got my letter today too and saw that extra calling charges page..
How on earth is splitting a call into two parts making it easier for the customer to work out the cost!
These numbers should just be one rate, so easy to understand or scrapped altogether and let the customer have a non-rip off call system.
All I can say is thanks for say no to 0870 and so I can get an alternative, mostly free number to these premium rate numbers. They have not failed me so far in finding an alternative.

Indeed. We used an 08 number (e.g. telescount.co.uk) for cheap calls to Poland but no longer cheap with the 9p charge coming.

Have turned to skype, surprisingly cheap, about 2p a minute

I wonder if I get the full £4.50 rise whilst I am on a discounted rate?

I can't dump sly at the moment as I am on a 12 month discounted contract, but as soon as it ends that will probably be it.

Time to start working on my family and getting them used to a life without sly.
I am sure that the promise of using the money saved for an annual holiday will go some way in winning them over.
Did you re-contract before September 2014? If so then they are in breach of their own t&c's and you could leave early. They can only increase the price once within your minimum term contract.

If you go into your account, and then into your bills . open the up and coming bills in right box you should be able to see any increases

only letter I got was if I continued to use Sky broadband and registered for the deal then I would keep the sky+ functionality. Don't know how much that is normally without a sky TV sub

Re: Sky TV Price rise June 2015

I shall be dumping sky in September anyway. The last price increase was an increase too much. I can survive without it.

It's so overpriced now that it is getting ridiculous.
