Twelve Days, One Throne: Sky Atlantic to air every episode of Game of Thrones this Christmas

This Christmas, Sky Atlantic gives the ultimate TV gift: every episode of the multi award-winning Game of Thrones over twelve consecutive days, giving new viewers the chance to see the show everyone is talking about and fans the opportunity to revisit the epic adventure from the very beginning.

From Saturday 20 December onwards, Sky and NOW TV customers can enjoy between three or four episodes of Sky Atlanticís must-see drama every night from 9pm.

A blockbusting saga of revenge, betrayal, greed and lust, Game of Thrones is as dark, gritty, shocking and absorbing as the international best-selling books by George RR Martin that itís based on. And with scintillating performances from an expansive and talented cast including Sean Bean, Lena Headey, Peter Dinklage and Charles Dance, Game of Thrones has enthralled critics and audiences alike, with The Times declaring ďThis is as good as it getsĒ andRadio Times calling it ďan exceptional show in its prime.Ē

Sky Atlanticís Twelve Days, One Throne begins with the first three instalments from Game of Thrones series one from 9pm onwards on Saturday 20 December. For the next eleven nights viewers can enjoy between three or four unmissable episodes each evening from 9pm.

Whether customers are watching for the first time or revisiting their favourite series, Sky Atlantic encourages viewers to share their thoughts and reactions online using the hashtag #12days1throne

The complete box set of Game of Thrones series one is also available for Sky and NOW TV customers to enjoy On Demand now.

The new, fifth series of Game of Thrones will premiere exclusively on Sky Atlantic in the UK and Ireland next Spring.

For those that donít have Sky TV, but want to dip in and out, they can do so via a NOW TV Entertainment Month Pass. For £6.99 a month customers can stream Skyís most popular channels, including Sky Atlantic, without a contract.

Oh wow - they could not find something new to show us so we are going to be plagued with repeats.

      Exactly.

Personally, I don't watch this 'same old bones' programme because i've seen enough clips now to know it's not something i'd enjoy.
Infact i'd go as far as classing it as instantly forgetable dross, but that's just my opinion.

      I agree with mattylad.
Regardless of how popular a programme is, for sky to broadcast it again when catch-up / boxsets should be taking care of that is just plain lazy.

I use the term lazy because there must be a whole host of 'less popular' (yet more intelligent, thought provoking) programmes out there that sky could be showing on that channel instead.

I've seen the tv ads for 'sky atlantic' & in my opinion sky are currently in the slow process of ruining that particular brand.
The channel used to be good, but soon it'll be indistinguishable from 'sky living' which is for people who want to know how big Kim Kardashians' bum is.

      Re: Twelve Days, One Throne

      Hmmm... interesting points of view.

Ok, admitedly the content on Sky Atlantic might seem a little stale now, compared to when it first launched, but there is still much content on the channel which is very good.

Game of Thrones has been a very very popular series which has caused many issues with Sky Go, for example, due to the high volume of people wanting to view it. You can't blame Sky for wanting to milk the audience a little as Sky Atlantic is still only available with a Sky TV package it will be used as a method to encourage people to join Sky.

Ok, repeats of House, ST: Enterprise, Stargate Atlantis, Seinfeld & Thirtysomething are getting tired, but series such as The Sopranos have been very popular when they were repeated.

There is still plenty of new content being produced though. The Knick, The Newsroom (final series) & Blue Bloods al appear on the channel.

      Re: Twelve Days, One Throne

This is how Sky and the other channels work and have always worked.

I know that we all used to complain about the BBC and ITV when they repeated things when they were the only channels, but with such a large volume of channels the repeats are more frequent. There are various reasons given, but ultimately if enough people didn't watch the repeats then they wouldn't have them.

They watch it because there's no alternative , the difference is you don't pay for bbc or itv . Sky should spend more money on new programmes instead of trying to dominate the media world.

I agree there too many repeats getting fed up with them too. difference with bbc channels and so on. we pay a subscription every month not only do we have to put up with TV adds now we have to put up with more and more repeats.yes we have to pay a TV license fee but much less then Sky subs.

      Re: Twelve Days, One Throne

The problem is too many channels as opposed to too many repeats.

The likes of Dave, Living etc were 100% repeat channels. Now they show new programs which historically would have been on Sky1.

There's only so many TV shows that can be produced and we've past saturation point.
