The netgear site has a firmware recovery program. www.netgear.co.uk/support. I recovered someones a month or so ago, they were 'exploring' too. lol.

Getting your Sky Broadband Log-in details

To use a different router to the naff Netgear one that sky gives you (constant resets due to line drop) I just logged onto the router signed in as admin password sky.

There is a section for backing up your details.

Do this, save the cfg file to your desktop then read it with notepad, this gives you your login and password details to put on another router.

Have you previously reflashed your router with standard Netgear firmware?

'cause you won't get to see your user name and password with the Sky firmware that way.

If you cannot get your login from that try this way :

      Deleted.

EDIT: Thanks for the post Ivan but this is already covered in some detail in the Technical forum which is the preferred place for discussion involving changes to the Sky router or the use of alternatives.
