In that case it was still blocking access to the property and a chain saw might have resolved the issue more promptly.

Well placed wind turbines on land aren't intrusive.
It depends on what you mean by 'well placed'. If you mean out in the country where they interfere with no one but the wildlife, then OK. However they are in positions which are very intrusive and I don't just mean unsightly. My son lives close to a school which has its own wind turbine and at times the noise is excruciating. He is about 150 yards as the crow flies but goodness knows what like it is for those who are next door to it. Complaints have fallen on deaf ears.

Going back to intrusive looking poles and masts, many places up here have disguised them as trees, which in some cases is very effective. This one, made up to look like a Scots Pine, is next to the roundabout at Dunblane, many pass it and don't realize what it is.

A Scots Pine may look out of place in a leafy English suburb, but other trees could be used to give the same effect.

      That's genius.
Is it an officially funded thing or people power?

Actually, looking around the web it's the phone companies & not just scotland either.

A nice big fir in redditch, worcestershire here:

I think its mostly paid for by the phone companies, usually to overcome planning permissions. One I saw somewhere was disguised as, guess what, a wooden telegraph pole, painted brown, complete with climbing steps.

Not far from me there is a line of four similarly "disguised" cell towers, each sticking out like a sore thumb simply because they don't look anything like any other tree you would ever see in the locality. I believe the cell tower equipment is made by Ericsson and you can only hope that they look a little more natural in Sweden.

Id much rather have a nicely designed but modern looking cell tower in protected areas. Make them beautiful rather than trying to make them blend in and look stupid.
