You can get free BB unlimited for 24 months or fibre unlimited at 10 for 12 months as long as you have Sky Sports.

You also have to re-contract for 18 months with your phone and broadband package to receive this offer however you can cancel the sports but you would lose the offer and still be in the new contract.

Re: Sky Broadband UK Warns of Forthcoming TV Bundle Price Hike

Just got my letter informing me that because sky is so good that I am being required to pay an extra 4 per month.

I was expecting no more than 2.50, so I am not happy.

I am talking to my family to gauge their feelings about dumping the lot and just using Freeview and Freesat. My television has a connection for satellite and can record programs if I add a hard drive.

The stuff I can only get on sly that interests me I can obtain by other means very easily.

So, now to decide if I dump the lot or just get rid of the sports package. I am leaning toward dumping the lot but will take a couple of weeks max to mull it over.

3.50 extra a month for me, which really is taking the p!ss. Called Sky to discus this and got the rudest agent ever. All I wanted to do was downgrade my Variety Bundle down to The Original and also cancel anonymous caller reject to save me some money....but when they where discussing my new bill total and I mentioned the letter I'd received today he started bleating about if I wanted to cancel my whole account then FFS....idiot. I only asked a question about my new bill total.

Well done Sky another call centre fail.

Re: Sky Broadband UK Warns of Forthcoming TV Bundle Price Hike

Is there anywhere which clearly lists the packages and what they cost?

I have looked in 'my sky' and it is there but it is not very clear and does not give individual prices for each package I have.

      Original 21.50 No change
      Variety 28.00 (was 27.00)
      Family 33.00 (was 32.00)

      Sports Pack 24.50 (was 22.00)
      Movies Pack 16.50 (was 16.00)

HD Pack 5 - No change
      Multiscreen 11.25 - No change

Complete Bundle (ie Family + Sports + Movies) 71.25 (was 67.25)

Sports Bundle (ie Original + Sports) 46.00 (was 43.50)
Movies Bundle (ie Original + Movies) 38.00 (was 37.50)

      Family + Sports 57.50 (was 54.00)

This is the basics, but of course if you take broadband and phone it will give you a better deal and of course noone pays the full price, you will always have an offer or deal.
All legacy customers are now listed as being on the variety bundle but paying less for their hd with F1 hd included and have the all family channels included.

Not sure I have missed anything.

Hmmm, so it would now be 855 a year for sky tv. that is extortionate and would fund a very nice holiday for us each year.

I have been with sly since the very first days during the late 80's when they made a public statement live on television saying that they would never charge for viewing their channels.

I just need to finds the courage now to ring up and tell them to stuff the lot.
