      LOL Scubbie meant 2015*

Taking up slowly doesnt sound right.... they normally whack to the top and slowly reduce....... I was quioted 33mb, I first synced at 40mb (max attain 44mb) but due to noise, I stay in the 39mb sync and 37mb throughput.

      congrats tho

The sky bloke said he couldn't take all of it up to its Max in case it became unstable. But its not bad considering my line is old

I think they are pulling your pisser.
You had better stats than me if I remember right.
I sync at 40 down and 10 up.
      On a speedtest I get @37.5 & 9.5.

It may be that deadman is closer to his exchange than you are to yours, but farther from his street cabinet.
That would explain line performance differences compared to when on ADSL.
They're probably still pulling his plonker though as sky fibre lines seem to start off at high speeds & then go down from there, if need be.

Hopefully when BTO launch Vectoring such inconsistencies will be reduced.

Re: UK ISP Sky Broadband to Drop Superfast Unlimited Fibre Price to GBP7.50

Usually, I've had truble ordering things through the 'upgrade my sky' page, but this one worked fine.

Added Sky Fibre Unlimited, and it noted the 6 month 7.50 reduction - although the page that shows the on\off slidies showed $50 activation, the total cost panel at the top showed zero activation, and the confirmation page clearly said 'free fibre activation' when summarising the things added.

Done - that was a painless way to spend more money

EDIT: Although it's instantly send an email to 'call us urgently'. Sigh. Will give them a shout later and find out what that's about.

EDIT2: And a quick call later, yes even on Easter Sunday, and they can't figure why it stalled. They've done it manually - all fine - and chalked it up to the 'random customer worrying program'.
