I've got 3 months left on my last Upfront Line Rental. After that it will be the standard price (unless a new ULR deal emerges - don't worry I'm on it! )

We'll have to wait and see how/if this develops. It's going to be a very popular offer if true.

      Thank you for your email.

I understand that you are enquiring about offers available on your Sky Broadband subscription when the current offer ends.

Sky changes offers regularly and most offers are available only for a limited period of time. Different customers are given different offers as per their subscription.

The best way to get the most up to date information about our offers is to check our website at the following link

That was the reply from Sky when I said this to them.....
I have half price Sky Fibre unlimited but it ends on 13th May, is it possible to get this offer when my current 6 months half price ends?

Re: UK ISP Sky Broadband to Drop Superfast Unlimited Fibre Price to GBP7.50

I appreciate that the response your were given is a little ambiguous and doesn't address the question you asked directly, but from what I have learnt about Sky, it is correct.

It is a competitive market out there and an offer will be tested to see how popular it is sometimes. Other times there will be a specific target group to get them to stay.

Ultimately there will be a reason behind each offer that you and I are not party to. Someone within the BSkyB corporation's marketing team will have a budget and be instructed to increase the number of people in a specific group or to actively compete against a rival.

Sky went out of their way with some of the retention offers for ex-O2 and ex-Be customers. A friend who was with O2 for telephone and broadband managed to get Sky Talk Unlimited UK, Unlimited Broadband and Entertainment Extra+ for under 20 per month. He wasn't alone and he is carefully watching the calendar so he doesn't have to pay the full price later this year.

I am sure that there will be other offers next month. Some of them we will hear about, some we can publish. Unfortunately not even the people on the front line who deal with them could advise you what will be available next week, let alone next month.

Re: UK ISP Sky Broadband to Drop Superfast Unlimited Fibre Price to GBP7.50

Well I got in touch with Sky, as mentioned earlier, and I got an email stating that they would allow me to have 6 months at 7.50, i.e. no price change for me and that the contract would run alongside my current up front line rental period. Then when that period is over, they would look at what they could do to retain me as a broadband customer.

I replied via email with a few more questions which would help me to decide whether I should take the offer or not, however when I got a reply from Sky, they had went ahead and ordered Sky fibre for me, without me giving them the go-ahead!!! So instead of me digesting the answers and pondering over Sky Fibre for a day or two, Sky had made the decision for me!

I have written to them highlighting my disbelief that Sky could do this without me agreeing!
In this instance I have decided to try out the 6 months of Sky fibre, but I would have liked to have been the one that instigated the move rather than Sky having made my mind up for me!

I will let you know the outcome and course post my stats once I get Sky Fibre......
