First look: Sky gives glimpse into its new EPG

I still find it amazing that I will now have to press 2 buttons to get to the TV guide. Why? So my default is TV guide then hd channels. Now it looks like press TV guide and then select TV guide and then hd. A new remote should come out with it and change the box office and interactive buttons!!!!

I use the search function almost every day.

Apart from the odd result that makes no sense (which can be funny), i find it a lot better than the old one, especially the info on series & episode numbers that aren't in the guide.

Still wish they'd include an apostrophe in the character set though.
Or replace the useless semi colon with one.
Anyone ever seen a programme with a semi colon in the title?
      Me neither.

I don't. I only press the TV Guide button, I turned off the useless icon view.

      That's a semi-colon.

They have just used the same system as used on stupid phones.

I'm sure that there will be an option to rein in the eye candy for those that prefer function over style.

The Sky+ App does act as a remote control for the channels and planner content.

It can be used to trigger reminders and to record content.

It would be nice to have lots of extra controls too, but they haven't been added yet.

As for the Sky remote, perhaps for a future model it may get a facelift, but recently I did a search and found that the same remote design, with a few tweaks on some of the buttons, is being used by Sky Germany, Italia and some others too.

Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro: Connected at 80,000 kbps / 20,000 kbps
Previous ADSL2+ Speed 19999 kbps 1153 kbps, Line Attenuation 17.5 db 6.9 db, Noise Margin 7.5 dB 8.7 dB
      Speedtest: 17.15MB/s 0.97Mb/s Ping 31 ms

I can remember cable TV on the old Jerrold boxes.

We could rearrange the channel list as we wanted it, to move more commonly used programs top the top of the list.

The current favorites is of little use to me as I still cant organize the channels how I want them.

Re: First look: Sky gives glimpse into its new EPG

Will the Sky boxes ever be programmed to be a DLNA server?
It would be nice to be able to stream recorded programmes on the sky box to pc's, other sky boxes etc?

      Is this possible?
