Pretty pointless to me because sky go extra can registered up to 4 devices but be warned, you only allow to watch up to 2 devices at a time, not up to 4. Rip off and conned by sky. I wouldn't bothered sign up. Another pure greed by Murdoch.

Ouch! I missed that one. Have you actually tried playing on 4 devices for yourself bulldog?

I recall reading that streaming is limited to a max of 2 devices out of the 4 devices at any one time when I was investigating the free trial offer (but can't remember where I saw it now!)

One thing I haven't seen anything about though is whether or not the "one device change per month" rule still applies.

As they apparently haven't said anything about that, my assumption is that it's unchanged.

(Scubbie, I haven't had time to "ask" )

It has been a very busy morning. I have now asked for clarification on this.

Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro: Connected at 80,000 kbps / 20,000 kbps
Previous ADSL2+ Speed 19999 kbps 1153 kbps, Line Attenuation 17.5 db 6.9 db, Noise Margin 7.5 dB 8.7 dB
      Speedtest: 17.15MB/s 0.97Mb/s Ping 31 ms

Re: Sky unveils a new subscription service - Sky Go Extra

They should be more like netflix which I believe you can have as many devices as you like but it prevents you from streaming to more than 2 simultaneously.

      Standard should be 1 - 2 concurrent

Extra should be 4 concurrent streams.

The only reason they need to "register" the devices would be to enable the download functionality

Then the 1 change per month wouldn't be a problem but with the current setup if a device gets screwed and you have to reload it or in the case of a PC it loses the silver-light cookie it thinks it's a new device but you can't do anything about it due to the stupid restrictions on the number of changes.

Re: Sky unveils a new subscription service - Sky Go Extra

Ok folks, for clarification, bulldog is correct.

For now you can only stream content to 2 devices at the same time. Also you are still limited to one device change per month.

Do remember though that with Sky Go Extra you can download content to a device. This means that whilst two may be streaming, the other two should be able to watch downloaded content.

Yes i already sign up free trial and it only let me watch 2 devices on my pc and my ipad but my daughter ipad won't work "restrict limit to 2 devices as a time" and if I stop watched from my ipad, then my daughter can watch it, really stupid. It let me registered third on my daughter ipad but refuse to registered on 4th (my daughter pc) saying must wait until Feb 1st. WTF ?

Yes that sounds odd. I might have said it's because device management continues to be limited to one change per month, but that would not make sense in the scenario you have described (unless there's a bug in the process?)
