Are you on existing customer?...Don't pay it!

Go to http://www.sky.com/helpcentre/account-and-billing/ payments-and-billing/price-changes-2012/index.htm... Scroll down to the bottom of the page. Sky Line Rental-No Change For Existing Customers.

Call the UK sales number 08442 411 818. Ask for the billing team (stipulate you only want the UK team).

Direct them to this page and they will concede, apologise and then put you on hold while they fill out a Customer Resolution Form.

It took me 2 hours if calls to India and the UK with lots of arguments. Hopefully others will find it simpler after my verbal fencing match!

Another example of a big company relying on people not reading their post/being too lazy to worry about 2.25. Good luck. M

This has nothing to do with the line rental increase from December. The page you have provided is talking about the price increases that were from the 1st of September. The line rental price for exsisting customers did not change then, thats why it states 'No change for existing Sky Talk customers'.

Sky have now decided to up the line rental from the the 1st of December and has nothing to do with what's on that page.

My mistake then. You go pay more for your line rental buddy, and ignore my post. I got the letter through today like everyone else. They are informing you of the price hike for your November bill, they have to give customers warning. Once challenged with the above link, they confirmed my line rental would not increase.

Thanks for your input though, I always enjoy comments from people like yourself.

      Peace.

Mate, I wasn't trying to be arsey. I was just pointing something out...... that's all.

'People like myself'??? I would be grateful if you would just refer to me as 'Sir'. ;-)

I would imagine that that page will now be updated, although, like Richie says, it is a webpage describing the price changes from September, of which of course Sky had no mention of the impending price rise.

Someone must have forgotten to update that page within the last week or so since this became known.

Lol! I know, I was just being pithy.....or attempting to.

      Sorry if I caused offence.

Well, they've now told me that I won't get a price increase, so I'm happy about that.

      Have a good evening dude.

I think you have either been fobbed off or given a special discount. On the page you link to under the heading -
Will my Sky Broadband and Sky Talk be going up as well
      it states
There are no changes to the monthly price of Sky Broadband or Sky Talk for existing customers. However, Line Rental is increasing on 1 December 2012 from 12.15 to 14.50 for existing customers.

The letter that I received yesterday states that:
"Sky Line Rental will increase by 2.25 a month" and
"these changes will take effect from 1 December 2012" and
"as you pay for your Sky Line Rental a month in advance, you'll first see this change in your November bill" and
"If you've paid 12 months in advance, your Sky Line Rental won't be affected until this pre-paid period ends".

I expect you will get an opportunity to renew the 12 months prepayment at an increased rate.
