Re: Let The New EPG Rollout Begin

The 'Receiver ID' was added with v53 and later. v49.22 didn't show this field.

As for not upgrading to 53.70.??? by forcing the update process, thanks for confirming, but it does appear that the latest firmware (53.70.04P & .05P) is still not available on the update stream.

Re: Let The New EPG Rollout Begin

Currently only the iPad has an application to allow it to access the Sky+ HD STB. Hopefully Sky will release apps for other tablets and smart phones in due course.

When they finally add the ability for the SkyHD STB to be able to access the planner too, then it may be useful for others as well.

Personally I would love there to be a customisable field so that people can add a 'Network Name'.

Sorry Tom, there have been various different firmware versions for the Amstrad DRX890 and DRX895 in the past few months.

Don't worry too much about the information if we have lost you, basically it works.

With regards to my reference to the Update Stream, this refers to the ability to force your Sky STB to update to the latest firmware version. However since the stream is carrying v49.22 for the Amstrads at present, people cannot force their STB to the most recent version (53.70.05P) just yet.

Sky are rolling it out to selected boxes and have been doing so for a few weeks now. If your Amstrad DRX890 or DRX895 does not have the very latest version once the roll out has completed, then it will be possible to force the update.

Another useful time for using the forced update is when a new customer has the Sky TV installed. The Engineer should do this before leaving the customer's home. However I have seen where one did not do this recently and I was able to do it for the friend instead.

      I hope this helps.

Re: Let The New EPG Rollout Begin

Network Name would be useful, then you would know which one was which when you have more than one box, I wouldn't hold your breath on anything other than maybe Android being added, why companies think that everyone owns/wants to own an iPhone/iPad is beyond me.

Must change my Sig, totally out of date
