Re: Catch Up TV On Your EPG Very Soon

Someone who is Beta Testing has posted this elsewhere.

      An evolution, certainly.

Anytime+ has disappeared from the EPG for the beta versions. It's now called 'On Demand'.

As well as BBC iPlayer, ITV Player & Demand5, they intend to offer a full 7-day catch-up service for Sky channels.

Full details haven't been released yet, or tested, but I'm looking forward to that.

Bar a few minor glitches, the latest software has been remarkably stable and the Development Team take people's concerns very seriously. I'm hoping they will release the next phase soon.

Interesting that they should say that the Catch Up service hasn't been tested. It will have been tested in-house, just not with the beta group.

Also please don't think that the next Beta firmware is ready for public release. There is still more work to do.

looking forward to a proper ITV Player on sky

First thing i did when we signed up to sky fibre was to buy some homeplugs and connect the skybox and found that there were only a handful of programmes on ITV player and nowhere near those listed online

Re: Catch Up TV On Your EPG Very Soon

Most Smart TV's will do most of this already. However it will be very convenient to have all the content in one place (on the Sky EPG) rather than switching the TV to iPlayer etc etc. When 4oD is added then Sky customers won't need YouView and will thus save themselves 299 at the current pricing for the YouView Humax box.

Like the undelete feature, we've all pressed the wrong button from time to time!

Re: Catch Up TV On Your EPG Very Soon

Update: We may have been misinformed re the imminent bit. A couple of PMs have sort of hinted that it will be October. Also later this year, Anytime and Anytime+ would be getting renamed Catchup.

Re: Catch Up TV On Your EPG Very Soon

I always assumed Anytime/Anytime+ would be renamed "On Demand" at some point and the 7 day catch up would be called "Catch Up", as they are different services in my mind. Don't see the point in calling a library of on demand content "Catch Up" personally, guess we will have to see how it all comes out in the wash later in the year.

You are quite right, of the 2 PMs one says

will be rebranding Anytime and Anytime+ to On Demand
      and the other,

that Anytime and Anytime+ would be getting renamed Catchup
I think I copied and pasted the wrong bit.

Re: Catch Up TV On Your EPG Very Soon

What I don't understand, none of the beta testers that I know of, have openly discussed this, as they are obviously under some kind of NDA etc, but you can still find talk of it, if you scout around the internet.

Sky's undelete function doesn't appear to have a time limit. I've been using the feature for about a month now, and haven't seen anything disappear from the list of available recordings.
It is fairly obvious that there must be a couple of groups of beta testers, I would assume, made up of in house and then external people. Obviously, the in house testers, are getting pushed the newer EPG before the external ones. The pictures did not come from the external group.
