Re: Catch Up TV On Your EPG Very Soon

The CUTV section is still developing.

A HD button has been added in many sections only just this week.

Some of the Channel 5 content, for example, is in the On Demand section. I am sure that in due course as the new providers become familiar with it all and suitable contracts are exchanged, that more will become available in all the sections.

It will be interesting to see what will happen with much of the content which appears on multiple channels. Examples include The Simpsons, American Family, CSI and Law & Order:SVU. Of course there are many more, but this is something for the copyrighters and lawyers to resolve.

There are still plenty more developments to come and things are evolving. We do not know what they all are and how they will be implemented, but I am hoping that most Sky customers will be pleased with the results. Why not contribute to speedyrite's new thread in the General chat section?

Remember that all the developments over the past few months have taken a long time to plan, approve and to be developed. I know that they say that patience is a virtue, but in this case I hope that it is paying off.

      Too true.

The testing hasn't just been limited to in-house and staff this time either. Those who are involved in the beta testing have contributed a great deal in checking things out. It has been fun and there is still more to do.

I think I should look in Speedyrite's thread. This stuff I find very fascinating and it just amazes me how far we've come technology wise in a short space of time. The catch up offering is brilliant even in this form. But my curious nature has had me comparing online to Sky versions. (Yes I AM that sad! )

Anyway I noticed certain things like some episodes of shows don't appear in the programme stacks compared to online. For example, All Star Mr & Mrs has episodes 5,7 and 8 and 6 isn't there but all 4 are there in the online ITV Player.

Re: Catch Up TV On Your EPG Very Soon

It is true that there are some inconsistencies. I can only hope that the providers (ITV in the example above) will look to improve their input and things like this will become something of the past.

In the mean time, for anyone who still has not taken the hint, please do look at how you can connect your Sky+ HD or SkyHD STB to your home network. Most of the features, especially On Demand, need this to be sorted.

The cheapest solution is to use an Ethernet cable where possible. HomePlugs are also a good choice. The new WiFi n adaptor sold by Sky (was 9.99, but now 19.99) doesn't require too much technical know-how to install, judging by the many comments posted already and also works well.

Well if ever a hint was needed that you should get Sky+ and connect it to the internet because exciting developments are around the corner...that was it!

I have a question. My parents house has two Sky+ HD boxes and two other Sky boxes. One Sky+ HD box is connected to a Virgin Media router (with wifi capability), by ethernet cable. Do they need to get a Sky wifi adapter as well to connect all boxes to a home network?

The other HD box can be connected by ethernet, homeplug or wireless, which ever is most convenient.

So by wireless to the Virgin Media wifi router?

I must check the instructions to see how this is done.
