It sounds like sky are gradually enabling the Catch Up TV service for everyone.

Much like when they enable or disable specific subscriptions, this is an over-the-air update which will happen in the background. There is no message to tell you when it has happened.

To find out, press <TV Guide> <Red> and it should be next to 'Showcase'.

Nothing here yet. But the box was recently installed so i'd expect to be at the back of the line.

I have the update now to the new EPG, on my 890.

      On Demand, Catchup, and Undelete.

I read that it was available as a forced download, so gave it a go, and... it updated

I have been helping a friend this evening. Her TV was installed last month and her phone & broadband went live late this afternoon.

Initially the On Demand hadn't been initialised, so after a call to Sky it all works fine now. This includes Catch Up TV.

Everyone should have the service enabled sometime over the next few days.

BBC iPlayer is scheduled to be enabled a little later this month. In the mean time enjoy the ITV and Channel 5 programmes.

Has anyone noticed too how much quicker the On Demand section is now at getting a programme or movie to a point where you can watch it now? Most people are finding that a download is available to watch within the first minute, even when it is a HD film.

Re: Catch Up TV On Your EPG Very Soon

I too have the new 'catch-up' section enabled...brilliant! its mad cos just last night i asked sky on their forums WHEN/IF we would be getting iPlayer, 4oD, 5oD and FilmFour-HD...turned on Antyime+ tonight too have a look and there it was....hows that for service!! haha

does channel 4 hate sky or something?

      no 4oD
      no Film-Four-HD

yet other 'free' services have these (YouView has both I think)

      BBC iPlayer says "coming soon"

its nice to see that they have split the PPV movies from the SUBSCRPTION CHANNEL movies ...too some extent anyway.... I found that whilst viewing MOVIES and you chose 'all' to get them all up, it put them all back together again?? paid vs subscription (Library, Sky Store, Sky Movies) - but you could filter them out again by choosing 'channels' (green) then choosing SKY MOVIES - seems daft to do that? one is in the Sky Movies (subscription) section, when he/she chooses 'ALL' it should only be those types of movies that appear in the list? if I wanted to view ALL the PPV movies I would go to SKY STORE then ALL....??

I was also shocked too see some older movies costing money in the 'Library' section of movies - and newer ones free in the subscription section 'Sky Movies' - well, I suppose its not really 'free' if your paying a subscription - suppose its all down to rights and costs, e.g. all the ALIEN movies cost money but I could watch RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES for free on subscription, I think those types of movies (oldies) should be free to those who pay for a subscription...

all-in-all sky are doing an excellent job and now that they have basically included 'YouView' programming they are easily the best TV service by far.. infact just because of Anytime+ we are going to get the movies put back on for a bit

Re: Catch Up TV On Your EPG Very Soon

Channel 4 / Film 4 will be added early next year. There was an announcement earlier this month about this.

BBC iPlayer will be available about the middle of October.

You have spotted the 'Channel' filter button. This is a great help, but not ideal. Perhaps it might be suitable to enable the PIN protection for PPV events.

Visit the 'Parental' section and under 'Other' there is an option to enable 'Spending Restriction'.

Re: Catch Up TV On Your EPG Very Soon

it wasnt until a few weeks into having Anytime+ I noticed that one could press YELLOW to reveal 'all' the programs in the sub-category - I thought you just had those (now I know to be 'recommend') ones - once I realised that I truly saw how brilliant Anytime+ is

I think they are right too change the name to On-Demand (if they are still doing so) as most other services call their online streaming "On Demand" - guess it makes it easier for noobs to understand what it is exactly.. "Anytime+..? whats that?" hehe

      They already have.

I too have the new 'catch-up' section enabled
Just needs to be rolled out to everyone now.

Re: Catch Up TV On Your EPG Very Soon

Well originally 'Anytime' was exclusively downloaded over the air, in the background. That was renamed to 'Showcase' with the introduction of 'Anytime+'. The new name is certainly more fitting and the Catch Up TV section is really good.

Those involved in the EPG Beta testing have been playing with it for a little while now but we have been forbidden from talking about it.

With the change to the layout last week, the whole section has a really nice look and feel now. Unfortunately the can be quite a few buttons to navigate if you are just browsing the different sections. This can detract from your enjoyment a little.

However as more people get better broadband contracts and faster connection speeds this is sure to become a real asset for Sky subscribers if they connect their STBs to the Internet.
