      Sagem 2504n New FW Issues - 6.14.1a4N_UNI

      Over the last few days, we have noticed loads of reports from people who have received the new FW for their Sagem 2504n routers.

      The biggest complaints appear to be lagging in game, lag and disconnections whilst using Team Speak 3 (TS3) etc

      You can tell if your FW has been updated, by logging into your router;

      • By typing http://192.168.0.1 into your browser (or just click the link)
      • Then scroll down and click on Further Diagnostic Help
      • Input your username and password, admin / sky (unless you have already changed the password)
      • Then look at the top bit, ie


      Manufacturer Sagemcom
      Model Number F@ST2504n
      Firmware Version 5.23.1a4N
      ADSL Firmware Version A2pD030n.d23b
      If you have the new FW then the Firmware Version should now be

      Firmware Version 6.14.1a4N_UNI
      ADSL Firmware Version A2pD035g.d23j1


      (Another good indicator is the speed that the GUI has improved and it no longer takes 10 minutes to change)

      If you are affected let us know here. As wehave already forwarded the URL of this thread onto Sky to make them aware.




      In the meantime, if you want to rollback the FW there is everything you need on the CD that came with the router.

      Back up all your settings before you proceed, as this will put the router back to default.

      Note: We have not tried this, do so at your own risk.

      Explore the disc.

      Click on the recovery tools folder

      Then choose Win or Mac (I don't have a Mac so cannot help any further then this stage)

      Double click on srtool.exe - You should now have this box appear.

      Follow the instructions.

      I am indeed having problems with TS3.

      I replied to the other thread. Any chance someone can upload the original firmware found on the disk? I cannot find my copy.

      I am uploading it just now, although when i tried to roll it back, it didn't seem to work. I am uploading the whole Recovery Tools folder mate.

      Edit: Just read instructions above, not how i done it.

      It didn't work for me using that method, all that happened was you get an error that it can't find 192.168.1.1, which i found strange as the Sagem works off 192.168.0.1, also to add to that, it reconfigures your network adapter and you lose internet completely as it disabled DHCP. I had to to a windows auto repair on it (lazy way).

      Anyone else have any success?

      Edit: Presumably before sky get a hold of them, these are set to 192.168.1.1 so the gateway address needs to be changed.

      There are some instructions on the official Sky forum, adapt to suit?

      Windows 7
      1. Click Start and select Control Panel.
        Ensure view by large icons is selected.
      2. Click Network and Sharing Centre.
      3. Click on the Change Adapter Settings link in the left hand bar.
      4. Right click on the Local Area Connection icon and select properties.
      5. Highlight Internet Protocol Version 4.
      6. Click on Properties.
        • IP address: 192.168.1.11
        • Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0

      7. Leave the following fields empty:
        • Default Gateway
        • Preferred DNS server
        • Alternate DNS server

      8. Click OK.


      After following the steps above

      Open a web browser:

      1. Browse to 192.168.1.1
        You will be presented with the Update Software page.
      2. Click Browse.
      3. Double click Computer followed by the Sky CD icon.
      4. Double click Utilities folder followed by cfe folder.
      5. Select the file F2304_5_12_4a4N_fs_kernel_NONE.
      6. Click OK or Select.
      7. Click the Update Software button.

      Allan, go to your router GUI > Advanced > LAN Setup > LAN TCP/IP Address (change from 192.168.0.1) > 192.168.1.1

      It will reset and take 2 mins to come back up. Now try running the recovery tool again.

      The recovery tool might fail (it did for me) and it will change your IP address to a manual address (192.168.1.20) Go to adapter settings (TCP/IP v4) and change it back to auto. This will get you back on the internet if it fails.

      Same fail mate, IO exception.
