At least one of our members is using PoE to power the modem, so you don't even need a power socket beside it.

Hmmm, it's good to hear that the master socket can be moved if needed. However we have had a thought and if we have a slight reorganise of the room (good reason to force a new look to the room!) it's not a problem in using the master socket. :-)

Looks like we are def gonna get Sky Fibre soon - yay! Currently we have a low broadband speed so this will make a nice change. Noticed Sky currently have no offers for Fibre (except for a boring 25 M&S voucher), so instead gonna wait until next Monday (first working day of September) to see if any new offers pop up.

Looks like you can get 65 cash back through Quidco for taking fibre. This expires in three days though.

Nice. Didn't know about the Quidco service, have signed up for it.

However it looks like there is only an offer/discount for the Sky Fibre if we also take Sky TV. As we only tend to watch the main terrestrial network channels, we are looking for a fibre + landline package. It seems there are Sky offers for standalone broadband + landline packages, but none currently for fibre + landline packages. Hopefully that will change soon as the word of Sky Fibre spreads.

Topcashback appear to have a 45.45 cashback for existing customers taking fibre unlimited (not clear if this is for new broadband customers, or if upgrades qualify): topcashback.co.uk/sky-digital-upgrades/

      Re: Sky's New Router / HUB SR101

Well I am sat on my sofa watching my router having a mid day crisis, it's continuously rebooting for no apparent reason, speeds are slow for my stats, getting just over 9mb on a 30db line (that increased from 26db when I was with o2)

For reasons unknown, my router drops the line, resyncs, then a few seconds later starts over again

I have a DGN2000, DG384GT, Zoom ADSL X6 series 1046, linksys wag354g v2, a skybroadband sagem (ugly grey thing) and I am sure I have a Belkin router here as well some where (Argos jobby)

If this router doesn't settle soon I'll be trying the above routers

I find it strange that over 70% want this router so far and there has been next to nothing released about how it performs. Is it a case of 'its new, so I want it'?
